- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup apple butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Mix in apple butter until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing just until combined. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers look soft. Cool 5 minutes on tray, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
