Ingredients
Scale
1 loaf (16 ounces / 450g) brioche or French bread, cut into cubes
8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (300g) fresh strawberries, sliced
8 large eggs
2 cups (480ml) whole milk
½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Toppings: Powdered sugar, extra strawberries
Instructions
Beat cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add half of the bread cubes, spoon cream cheese mixture evenly over top, and sprinkle half of the strawberries. Add remaining bread and strawberries.
Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until fully combined. Slowly pour over the bread mixture. Press gently so bread absorbs custard.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight for best texture and flavor.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let casserole sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes until golden and set in the center. Cover loosely with foil if browning too quickly.
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.
