Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth using a fork or potato masher.
  3. Add melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and stir until well combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs, mixing until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  7. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for added texture and flavor.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
