An irresistible Blueberry White Cheddar Grilled Cheese that offers a delightful blend of sweet blueberries, sharp white cheddar, and fragrant dill, all grilled between crispy sourdough bread. This gourmet sandwich is surprisingly easy to make and perfect for a quick lunch or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
  • 2 oz (60 g) white cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
  • 2 tbsp fresh blueberries
  • 1 tbsp blueberry jam
  • 12 tbsp softened butter (for toasting)
  • Optional: Fresh dill or mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat. Spread blueberry jam on the inside of this slice.
  3. Layer the white cheddar cheese, fresh blueberries, and optional fresh dill or mint on top of the jam.
  4. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
  5. Cook the sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, let rest for 30 seconds, then slice diagonally.
  7. Garnish with extra blueberries or herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature butter for easy spreading.
  • Cook over medium heat to ensure evenly melted cheese and crispy bread.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Avoid overstuffing the sandwich to maintain a good balance of jam, fruit, and cheese.
  • Thick-cut bread helps prevent sogginess and supports the fillings well.
