Ingredients
Scale
4 pork chops (bone-in recommended)
2 tablespoons canola oil
Fresh rosemary (optional)
For the Rub:
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For the Sauce:
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon molasses
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a small bowl, stir together the rub ingredients.
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture generously all over each pork chop.
Heat canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until nicely browned.
While the chops are searing, whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a separate bowl until smooth.
Place the seared pork chops in a baking pan (a 9×13 inch pan works well).
Pour the brown sugar sauce evenly over the pork chops. Add fresh rosemary if using.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C).
Remove from oven, let the pork chops rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For boneless pork chops, reduce baking time slightly and monitor closely to prevent overcooking.
Always use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
