Mouthwatering Caramel Apple Pie Bombs are a delightful fusion of crisp caramel apples and comforting apple pie. These golden, flaky handheld treats feature perfectly spiced apples and rich, buttery caramel inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 8 pieces caramel candy
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • cinnamon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt 1 tbsp unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped apples, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring, until apples soften. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate the 8 biscuits from the can of refrigerated biscuit dough. On a clean surface, flatten each biscuit into a roughly 4-inch round disc.
  3. Place about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the cooled apple filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. Top the apple filling with one piece of caramel candy. Gather the edges of the biscuit dough up and over the filling, pinching them firmly to seal and form a tight ball. If using, roll each sealed bomb in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
  4. Place the assembled bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 1-2 inches apart. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  5. Brush the warm bombs with 2 tbsp melted butter. For an extra sweet finish, dust with additional cinnamon sugar if desired. Serve your Caramel Apple Pie Bombs warm for the best experience.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for a balanced flavor.
  • Experiment with different types of caramel candies.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
