  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup of cherry preserves (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream (for extra moistness)
  • Whipped cream or frosting (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cherry chip cake mix with water, vegetable oil, eggs, and sour cream. Mix until the batter is smooth.
  3. Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries.
  4. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cupcakes to cool before frosting.
