Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour (Use scoop and level method for accuracy.)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (Reduce by 1/4 cup for less sweetness.)
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder (Ensure it’s unsweetened.)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder (Essential for leavening.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt (Enhances flavors.)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (Substitute with margarine or coconut oil.)
  • 2 large Eggs (Use room temperature for better mixing.)
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (Can replace with dark chocolate.)
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (Do not substitute with evaporated milk.)
  • 1 cup Maraschino Cherries (Fresh or dried cherries can be alternatives.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, greasing it lightly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate chips together, then allow to cool slightly. Beat in eggs and combine with dry ingredients.
  4. Prepare cherries by draining and halving them, then distribute evenly over the chocolate base.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over cherries and drizzle sweetened condensed milk on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are firm and center slightly jiggly. Cool completely before cutting.
