A festive clock cake perfect for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fondant for decoration
  • Edible gold dust for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  7. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture.
  8. Pour the batter into prepared pans and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cakes cool before removing from pans.
  11. Once cooled, layer and frost the cakes with fondant to create a clock design.
  12. Decorate with edible gold dust.
