Cranberry Jelly Candy – A Festive, Tart, and Sweet Homemade Treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin (or 2 tsp agar-agar powder for vegan option)
  • ¼ cup cold water (for blooming gelatin)
  • Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract or orange zest
  • Additional sugar for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine cranberries, sugar, and ½ cup water in a saucepan. Simmer 10 minutes until berries burst and soften.
  2. Purée with immersion blender and strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smooth mixture.
  3. Sprinkle gelatin over ¼ cup cold water and let sit 5 minutes to bloom.
  4. Return purée to saucepan. Stir in lemon juice and bloomed gelatin. Heat gently 2–3 minutes until dissolved (do not boil).
  5. Pour mixture into silicone molds or parchment-lined pan. Chill 2–3 hours until firm.
  6. If using a pan, cut into squares. Optionally roll in sugar for sparkle.
  7. Keep in airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days or refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
