Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) tub Cool Whip (regular or light)
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (15 g) coconut oil or shortening
  • Optional Add-Ins: Crushed peppermint, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, flavored extracts, or colorful candy melts for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cool Whip: Spread Cool Whip evenly in a parchment-lined baking dish or tray, about 1 inch thick.
  2. Freeze: Place the tray in the freezer for 4–5 hours, or until completely firm.
  3. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  4. Cut and dip: Remove frozen Cool Whip, cut into small cubes, and quickly dip each piece in melted chocolate using a fork.
  5. Freeze again: Arrange dipped candies on parchment paper and freeze for 30 minutes until set.
  6. Serve: Enjoy straight from the freezer or let sit for a few minutes at room temperature for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for a smoother coating and richer flavor.
  • Keep Cool Whip frozen while dipping to prevent melting.
  • Coconut oil gives the candy a glossy finish and helps the coating set.
  • Store in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  • Customize with sprinkles, nuts, or colored candy melts for any holiday or occasion.
