  • 1 turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 6 cups bread cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried sage

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet and sauté onions and celery.
  3. Mix bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, salt, pepper, and sage in a bowl.
  4. Stuff the turkey with the mixture and place it in a roasting pan.
  5. Pour chicken broth over the turkey and cover with foil.
  6. Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
  7. Remove foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  8. Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.
