Decadent Kahlua Cheesecake with Oreo Crust to Delight You

  • 24 pieces Oreo cookies (Crushed)
  • 6 tablespoons butter (Melted)
  • 16 ounces cream cheese (Softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (Pure preferred)
  • 3 large eggs (Room temperature)
  • 1 cup sour cream (Can substitute with Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 cup Kahlua coffee liqueur (Or brewed coffee for non-alcoholic version)
  • 1 cup whipped cream (Homemade preferred)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings (For garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Gather your ingredients and equipment.
  2. Combine crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter. Press into the bottom of the springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes and let it cool.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and blend in vanilla extract.
  4. Add room temperature eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition.
  5. Fold in sour cream and Kahlua gently using a spatula.
  6. Pour the creamy filling into the cooled crust, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes until edges are set but center jiggles slightly.
  8. Cool the cheesecake in the oven with the door cracked for about an hour.
  9. Transfer to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
