Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground pork (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (for sweetness)
1 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp sage (dried or fresh)
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon (for a hint of warmth)
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
1/2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork (or turkey) with the maple syrup, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, cinnamon, and optional red pepper flakes. Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything together until it is well combined.
Form the mixture into small, flat patties, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. This should make around 8-10 patties, depending on the size you prefer.
Heat a non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess grease. Serve them hot, alongside scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, or in a breakfast sandwich.
Notes
This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.

These patties freeze well; just reheat them in a skillet or microwave when ready to eat.
