Ingredients

  • 3¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 teaspoons pink gel food coloring (or beet powder)
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and sugar, add yeast, and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in butter, egg, salt, food coloring, and flour. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover and let dough rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Roll tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place in greased pan and let rise 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22–25 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • Adjust food coloring to achieve desired pink hue.
