Delicious Puff Pastry Stars with Salmon Recipe to Impress!

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry
  • Salmon (fresh or smoked)
  • Cream Cheese
  • Fresh Herbs (Dill, Chives, or Parsley)
  • Egg Wash (or plant-based milk and oil for vegan option)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, chopped herbs, and diced salmon. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Set this aside.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry to about 3mm thickness.
  4. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out star shapes from the pastry, ensuring you cut an even number.
  5. Place half of the star shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon a small amount of the salmon filling into the center of each star.
  6. Place the remaining star shapes on top of the filled ones. Press the edges gently to seal them.
  7. Beat an egg and brush it over the tops of the stars for a golden finish.
  8. Bake the pastries in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they’re puffed and golden brown.
  9. Once baked, let them cool slightly before serving.
