Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk.
  4. Dredge each chicken cube in buttermilk, then thoroughly coat in the flour mixture, pressing gently. Set aside. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until a pinch of flour sizzles immediately.
  6. Fry chicken in batches, 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C). Use a meat thermometer.
  7. Remove chicken and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil. Press gently with a spatula while frying for extra crispiness.
  8. While chicken fries, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, and ranch seasoning mix in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  9. Adjust seasoning to taste. Consider adding lemon juice for extra tang.
  10. Cover and refrigerate the ranch dressing until ready to serve.
  11. Once the chicken is cool, toss gently in the ranch dressing.
  12. Serve immediately. Garnish with parsley, if desired, for a fresh touch.
  13. Serve this delicious ranch chicken with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave. Avoid overcooking to prevent drying out the chicken.
