Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Pour in milk and mix until smooth.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before frosting.
  11. Whip heavy cream and frost the cooled cake.
  12. Decorate with chocolate shavings and serve.
