  • 8 pieces Hot Dogs (Savory center)
  • 8 slices Cheddar Cheese (Filling; other varieties can be used)
  • Coarse Salt (For sprinkling on top)
  • Dipping Sauce (Mustard or cheese sauce)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture by combining warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let sit until frothy.
  2. Make the Dough by whisking together flour and salt, then combining with the yeast mixture.
  3. Knead the Dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Allow the Dough to Rise in a greased bowl covered with wrap for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the Oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  6. Prepare the Pretzel Bath by boiling water and adding baking soda.
  7. Shape the Dough into ropes and wrap around hot dogs and cheese, sealing well.
  8. Boil each pretzel dog in the baking soda bath for 30 seconds on each side.
