1 lb Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1 large Egg White
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 tbsp Sesame Oil
3 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 tbsp Ginger (minced)
2 nos Dried Red Chilies or Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 cup Tomato Ketchup
3 tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Chili Garlic Sauce
1 tbsp Vinegar
1 tbsp Sugar or Honey
Water (as needed)
1 cup Sliced Green Onions
2 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
1 cup Thin Strips of Fried Onion or Bell Pepper (optional)
Instructions
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and marinate with egg white, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper for 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry marinated chicken in batches for 4-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
In the same skillet, sauté garlic, ginger, and red chilies in sesame oil. Add ketchup, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add fried chicken back to the skillet and toss until coated with sauce. Simmer for an additional minute.
Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. Pair with rice, noodles, or lettuce cups.
