- 1/4 cup Sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 1/4 oz Active Dry Yeast (proofed)
- 1/4 cup Butter (melted and cooled)
- 2 large Eggs (room temperature)
- 4 cups Bread Flour (King Arthur brand recommended)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (room temperature)
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar (sifted)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Warm the milk to about 110°F, combine it with sugar and yeast, and let it bloom for 10 minutes.
- Mix in melted cooled butter and room temperature eggs, then add flour and salt until smooth.
- Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling by cooking chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice until thick, about 10-15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough, spread the filling, roll tightly, and cut into 12 pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased dish, cover, and let rise for another 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
