Delicious Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls for a Cozy Morning Treat

  • 1 cup Milk (lukewarm)
  • 1/4 cup Sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 1/4 oz Active Dry Yeast (proofed)
  • 1/4 cup Butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 large Eggs (room temperature)
  • 4 cups Bread Flour (King Arthur brand recommended)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F, combine it with sugar and yeast, and let it bloom for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix in melted cooled butter and room temperature eggs, then add flour and salt until smooth.
  3. Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the filling by cooking chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice until thick, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough, spread the filling, roll tightly, and cut into 12 pieces.
  6. Place the rolls in a greased dish, cover, and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese and butter, then adding powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Allow rolls to cool slightly before adding frosting.
