- 40–45 buttery round crackers or rectangular butter crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- Optional toppings: chopped pecans, sprinkles, sea salt
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Arrange crackers in a single even layer.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in brown sugar, and bring to a gentle boil. Cook for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Carefully pour the hot toffee over the cracker layer and spread evenly.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes until bubbling.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee, let melt for 3 minutes, then spread smooth.
- Warm peanut butter until spreadable and swirl or spread over the chocolate layer.
- Cool 15–20 minutes, then refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- Lift from parchment and cut into bars or squares.
