A light and fluffy angel food cake perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 12 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together cake flour and 3/4 cup sugar.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar and salt until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add remaining sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold in flour mixture gently.
  6. Add vanilla and almond extracts.
  7. Pour batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool upside down for at least 1 hour.
  10. Remove from pan and serve with fresh strawberries.
