Whipped Feta Crostini with Hot Honey is an easy yet elegant appetizer featuring creamy whipped feta spread on crisp baguette slices, drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey, and topped with toasted pecans. This recipe is perfect for parties, holidays, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 oz feta cheese (preferably block-style)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ cup chopped toasted pecans
  • 23 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fresh thyme leaves or rosemary, for garnish
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional Hot Honey (Homemade): ½ cup honey, 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste), 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp. Cool slightly.
  2. In a food processor, blend feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and honey until smooth and fluffy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Prepare Hot Honey (if homemade): In a small saucepan, warm honey with red pepper flakes for 2–3 minutes. Add apple cider vinegar for a tangy twist, then cool slightly.
  4. Spread whipped feta over each toasted baguette slice. Drizzle with hot honey, sprinkle toasted pecans, and garnish with thyme or rosemary.
  5. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate and serve chilled within a few hours.

Notes

  • Use block feta for the creamiest, richest texture.
  • Adjust spice level by reducing or increasing chili flakes in hot honey.
  • Toast pecans lightly for enhanced nutty flavor.
  • Whipped feta can be made up to two days ahead.
  • Add festive garnishes like pomegranate seeds or cranberries for color.
