- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (5g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2g)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (226g), softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml)
- 1/4 cup milk (60ml)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Beat softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, and beat until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined. Add milk and mix until dough comes together.
- Roll dough to about 1/8-inch thick on a floured surface. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Place cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set. Allow to cool.
- Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Decorate with frosting, sprinkles, or edible glitter as desired.
