Ingredients
Scale
4 pieces Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
2 cups Buttermilk
1 cup All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Black pepper
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
1 teaspoon Onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a lightly greased wire rack on top.
Marinate the chicken by fully submerging it in buttermilk in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Prepare the coating by mixing all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional cayenne pepper in a separate bowl.
Dredge each chicken thigh in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
Arrange coated chicken on the prepared wire rack and drizzle vegetable oil over each piece.
Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Check internal temperature to reach 165°F (74°C).
Remove chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use whole milk mixed with vinegar as a buttermilk substitute if needed.
