Indulge in a Pretzel Bun Beer Cheese Burger Bliss

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (fresh minced garlic works as a substitute)
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder (sautéed fresh onions create a delightful texture)
  • Salt and Pepper (adjust to your taste preference)
  • 4 pieces Pretzel Buns (homemade or store-bought options are great)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (or other melting cheeses like Gruyère)
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese (consider Neufchâtel for lower-fat alternative)
  • 1 cup Pale Ale Beer (substitute with your favorite lager or amber ale)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard (yellow mustard is an easier alternative)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce (soy sauce can work in a pinch)
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Green Onions (chives are a fantastic substitute)
  • 4 leaves Lettuce Leaves (swap in any greens like arugula or spinach)
  • 1 medium Tomato Slices (omit for a lower-carb option if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your ingredients while the oven heats.
  2. Slice the pretzel buns in half and brush the insides with olive oil. Toast cut-side up on a baking sheet for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Form into four patties slightly larger than the buns.
  4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned, avoiding pressing down.
  5. Top each patty with a scoop of beer cheese sauce and cook for another 4-5 minutes until melted.
  6. Assemble the burger: start with the bottom half of a pretzel bun, add lettuce, the cheesy patty, and pickles, then top with the bun.
  7. Serve immediately on a wooden platter, garnished with extra pickles if desired, paired with fries or potato wedges.
