Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup pumpkin (canned, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the pumpkin pie spice to the hot butter and let it toast for a few seconds, then remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  5. Add the pumpkin puree, vanilla, and kosher salt, mixing well.
  6. Add the egg and stir vigorously to combine.
  7. Add flour and baking powder, mixing until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the semisweet and dark chocolate chips on top and gently fold them into the batter.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Let cool before lifting the paper from the pan and slicing.
