A savory German dish featuring breaded and fried meat, typically pork or veal, topped with a rich bell pepper and tomato sauce.

  • 4 pork or veal cutlets (about 150g each)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pound the cutlets to an even thickness.
  2. Coat each cutlet in flour, then dip in egg, and finally in breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry in oil until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté onions and bell pepper until soft.
  5. Add garlic, tomato, and paprika. Cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour the sauce over the fried cutlets before serving.
